This is a new era of technology, where people believe in contribution. It’s not like old days where people bound themselves with their own knowledge and limitations. Now, resources are available with which you can share your work with the whole world so that people around the world can also work with you and contribute to your work in order to make it better. Open Source Project is one of those resources with which you can share your work and idea in public domain and people around the globe can see, learn, implement and even contribute to your project. Open Source Project gives you an opportunity to communicate with other people without even knowing them personally. As working with StartUp, as a Web Developer Tranniee, I got an opportunity to work in an Open Source Project. This Article shares the experience and the journey of my first Open Source Project.

It was a few days back when Tech lead of the StartUp ask me to build an Open Source Project. It was a great opportunity for me to contribute my work for the company in such a way. As being a trainee, Open Source Project is something with which we both can learn and explore new possibilities.

After having a brief discussion with Tech Lead of StartUp, I decided to go with an open source plugin for WordPress community. WordPress itself is a free and open source content management system. WP Plugin architecture allows users to extend the features and functionality of a website. There are thousands of plugins available in WordPress which can be used for an add-on functionality for any WP website that too for free.

So the plugin that we were developing was an Event and Guest Management plugin which will help the user to organize an event, Add a guest and send an invite to the guest and also receive their response for the invitation.

So, far we have initiated the project (GitHub Repository) and Working towards our first release.We also welcome developers around the globe to contribute to your project with their work, ideas, and feedback to make it a better one.
