People have been known to achieve more as a result of working with others than against them. – Dr. Allan Fromme

Sometimes working with people can be daunting and sometimes it can be fun, it totally depends on the people you work with. If people you are working with don’t share same enthusiasm……same vision……same work ethics… it is difficult to get your work done in a right direction, something I learn while back in college, I was lucky to have supporting friends who always works with me sharing same enthusiasm, vision and work ethics something we all look for in our partners and co-workers.

So the article is about me working with my mentor WP developer of Startup while building an Open Source Project. So as I have been mentioning in my previous articles about the journey of my first Open Source Project.

It was about yesterday when I solved an issue by building a feature for my WP plugin, RSVP Invitation. As I was done with it I tried to push the code to my working GitHub repository but instead of getting pushed it shows me an error. I tried again and the result was same as earlier so I went to my mentor asking for guidance. He looks to errors and told, even he is used to get the same trouble when he was new to GitHub but instead of providing a solution he asks me to have some research about the errors command line is showing. So I went back to my table and start finding the solution. While searching the internet I did find some solution from stackflow but applying them shows some new errors. I again went back to him with new errors in order to have a solution but he asks me to do some more research.

So I started to look again in a frustrated mood because I was working against a deadline and searching the internet for some errors was making difficult for me to get the work done in time.

And to be honest I was in so restlessness and hurry which was making it more difficult to find the solution. In the end, I got exhausted and literally beg for my mentor help. After seeing my situation he shared his experience with me that how he used to be in the same situation and how Lead WP Developer of Startup used to perform the same exercise with him and how it helps him to learn the new concept.

So I went back and have a fresh new start. This time I was not in hurry. This time it was more important to learn instead of getting the work done. So in order to learn, I go through the documentations to videos to articles and in the end, I found out where I went wrong. And after that, I pushed my code to the GitHub repository and look forward to the feedbacks in a happy mood.

So with my experience I think, You will achieve good results if you work with people instead of working against them.
